Serkan Akçay completed his medical education, which he started at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, in 2002, and then continued his specialty education at S. Baltalimanı Bone Diseases Orthopedics and Traumatology Training and Research Hospital. He completed his specialist training in 2008 and received the title of Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist.
Dr. After completing his specialist training, Akçay worked in a number of different hospitals and gained experience in various fields. These hospitals include Muş Bulanık Hospital, Mardin Derik State Hospital, İzmir Atatürk Training and Research Hospital, Denizli Servergazi State Hospital, Baltalimanı Metin Sabancı Bone Diseases Orthopedics and Traumatology Training and Research Hospital Hand Surgery Clinic, Kurtköy Ersoy Hospital, and Reyap Hospital Istanbul. As of 2023, he started to serve his patients in his own private clinic.
Dr. Akçay's medical interests include diabetic foot surgical treatment, acute and chronic osteomyelitis treatment, Charcot foot surgical treatment, lower and upper extremity deformity surgery, leg length inequalities and shortness, height extension, hip calcifications and prostheses, knee calcifications and prostheses, foot diseases (hallux valgus, hallux rigidus), orthopedic trauma surgery, hip-sparing surgery, hand surgery and shoulder diseases, sports injuries, meniscus and cartilage problems.
